Top Tiered Publication, Undip Information Systems Doctoral Students Hold Workshop

The workshop with the theme “How to Get Published in Top Tiered international Journals for Masters and Doctoral Programs” was held at the Undip Postgraduate School Building, Semarang, Monday (2/12/2024). The activity was held by the Master of Information Systems Student Association and the Undip Semarang Information Systems Doctoral Student Association.
The workshop, which was attended by 100 students, presented a resource person from Associate Professor School of Business Australia Assoc Prof Ferry Jie FCES FCILT PhD. The event moderator, Qidir Maulana Binu Soesanto SSI MSc PhD from the Department of Physics FSM Undip.
Chair of the Undip Information Systems Doctoral Student Association Bagus Satrio Waluyo Poetro MCS said the aim of this workshop was to help increase publications in reputable international journals. “This workshop is planned to be held regularly so that Undip’s Master of Information Systems and Information Systems Doctoral students can qualify for publication in reputable international journals at tiers Q1 and Q2,” said Bagus Satrio.
Meanwhile, Ferry Jie conveyed the trick to pass reputable international journals Top Tiered Q1 and Q2, journal references must be taken from Q1 and Q2 so that they are at the same level when sent to the target journal. “Strategies that can be applied, such as structure, systematic writing, introduction, method, design, literature review must comply with the standards of reputable journals Q1 and Q2,” he said.

Apart from that, novelty and critical thinking must also be considered so that it can be published in Q1 and Q2 journals. According to him, the similarity index must be below 20%, research development should not be self-initiated, the combination methodology, for example IoT with machine learning, must be connected to novelty and needs to be out of the ordinary in writing stories.
“Tell me clearly about each method, including integration and method solutions,” he explained. On the other hand, the Dean of the Undip Postgraduate School, Prof. Ir Mochammad Agung Wibowo MM MSc PhD, hopes that in the future it will be held regularly to provide benefits for students.
“Our target is for students to graduate on time, workshops like this are part of the steps so that students can publish journals in reputable journals Q1 and Q2,” said Prof Ir Mochammad Agung Wibowo. MSI and DSI Undip senior lecturer Prof. Drs Mustafid MEng PhD said that publication is a necessity in the current era.
Good publications will get lots of citations. “With this workshop we know how to get good publications, what the content or substance is, we can carry out mono-disciplinary or interdisciplinary research and I hope that the orientation of MSI and DSI will be Q1 journals,” said Prof Drs Mustafid.

The community service team of the Information Systems Doctoral Study Program (DSI) of the Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University (Undip) carried out the activity ”Empowering MSMEs in Karang Village, Karangpandan, Karanganyar Through Digital Marketing to Increase the Competitiveness of Local Products” in Karang Village, Karanganyar Regency, on Last Saturday, November 2 2024.
The team consists of Prof Dr R Rizal Isnanto ST MM MT IPU, ASEAN Eng, Prof Dr Rahmat Gernowo, MSi, Prof Dr Ir Purwanto, DEA Prof Drs Mustafid MEng PhD, and Dr Drs Catur Edi Widodo, MT.
This activity, which was attended by 15 participants representing MSMEs, also involved students and representatives of the DSI Undip Student Association.
According to the team leader, Prof. Rizal Isnanto, this service program aims to empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Karang Village, Karangpandan, Karanganyar through implementing digital marketing strategies.
