Information Systems (DSI) Postgraduate School, Diponegoro University (Undip) held an International Visiting Lecturer by presenting 2 resource persons from UTHM Malaysia on Friday, 21 June 2024.
The two speakers are lecturers at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), namely Prof Mustafa bin Mat Deris PhD, and Dr Yosza bin Dasril MSc PhD with moderator Dr Eng Adi Wibowo SSi MKom.
Activities with the theme “Data
Science and It’s Future” was held in the Main Meeting Room of TTB -A Undip Postgraduate and was attended by 100 students from Masters
Information Systems and Doctor of Information Systems Undip.
This International Visiting Lecturer activity was opened by the Dean of Undip Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Ir Mochammad Agung Wibowo MM MSc PhD. He said that this activity was highly appreciated, especially since this activity presented experts from the data field
science from Malaysia.

Science and his presence is the second time at Undip, it is hoped that sharing activities will be held

Head of Undip DSI Study Program Prof Dr Rahmat Gernowo MSi said that the theme was data
science is an interesting and “viral” topic, even several universities have also opened special data science study programs, so this activity will be interesting to watch and be an addition

Meanwhile, Prof. Mustafa bin Mat Deris in his presentation conveyed about data science including life cycle, prerequisites, tools and applications.
Next, Prof. Mustafa explained that the future of data
science will develop in the fields of edge computing, ethical and responsible AI, automated machine learning, explainable AI.
Responding to a question from the chairman of the DSI Undip Bagus Student Association, Satrio Waluyo Putro, Prof. Mustafa said that in Indonesia there are many companies and it is very different from Malaysia, which is not as many as in Indonesia, so there are opportunities for analytical data and data.
